Teacher’s Pain

We often hear from children who are having a good whine about those terrible teachers at their school. This is a story about a teacher named Mrs Caddiddlehopper who tells what it is like for her every day. It is about how she is feeling very harassed all day by the antics of her wayward young students. As she imagines all of the wonderful things she’d love to do to “ruin their day”, instead of her days always being ruined by those rascally young children, she comes to the realisation that it will all be for nothing because the very next day they will all be in class behaving exactly the same.

Silent Friends

I have always seen faces in things like trees, paint splotches, or concrete etc. One night, I could not sleep and was looking round my room, there was water damage and peeling paint on the ceiling, which I saw as creatures with faces. Having a lot to do with children over the years, I knew they’re often scared of the dark and what may be hiding there. My mind was always making up stories so as I looked at these creatures, I just thought about what their roles may be in making kids feel safe when they’re alone in their bed. From there as I described them to myself (poetically) Pokey, Angel and Grom, being our Silent Friends, were born.
